Quality sprouts all the way down BETTER quality sprouts lower down the stalk and faster spraying are claimed by Huntapac Produce since it switched to a DropSpray system last year. The DropSpray System was fitted to Huntapac's 26m Chafer trailed sprayer. "We were attracted to the DropSpray system because it enables chemical to be placed exactly where it is required right down to the base of the plant," says Huntapac's Duncan Griffith's. "With conventional spraying techniques only the top third of the plant is protected adequately and anything below that point is at risk." Although chemical
concentrations have not been changed since Huntapac switched to the system,
the firm says the dropleg achieved greater accuracy and allowed volumes to be
reduced from 600 litres/ha to 400 litres/ha. |
